Microsomes and Drug Oxidations - International symposia in the field of Drug Metabolism
Microsomes and Drug Oxidations (MDO) constitutes the major series of international symposia in the field of drug metabolism and related areas.
MDO has a long history of meetings since the first symposia in Bethesda, USA in 1968. The meetings now occur every two years. The next meeting will take place May 30-June 3, 2026 in Hong Kong SAR.
The MDO meetings bring together scientists from both academia and industry and constitute a fruitful meeting place where synergistic interactions are established and the latest developments in the field are discussed. The meetings have an expected size of 300-500 attendees and encompass the areas of drug metabolizing enzymes, drug receptors and drug transporters including their:
- biophysics
- biochemistry
- molecular biology
- structure and function
- molecular genetics
- polymorphism
- regulation
- clinical aspects
-
Particular emphasis is given to the importance of discoveries in basic science for drug development.
MDO has an International Advisory Committee with distinguished scientists in the field.
